VALMEYER COMMUNITY HERITAGE SOCIETY
In 1997, a group of citizens interested in preserving the history of the Valmeyer area got together with a shared hope.  The hope was to gather the history of the community and make it available for all to study and enjoy.  A lot of hard work remains as we tackle this project . . . but we have learned that every goal can be achieved with plenty of effort and persistence.

At that time, in order to help this group reach its goal, an organization was formed - The VALMEYER COMMUNITY HERITAGE SOCIETY.  Meeting were held for a few years, but then as sufficient funding could not be secured, the group went dormant.  With the excitement and interest of the Valmeyer Centennial celebration in 2009, the effort to open the doors to the Valmeyer Museum in the former Rehling homestead on the new Village site has once again been rekindled.

Regular meetings of the group are held on the fourth Thursday of each month at the Valmeyer Public Library beginning at 7:00 p.m.

Anyone having Valmeyer-related items that they would like to loan or donate to the Museum are asked to contact the Valmeyer Community Heritage Society.

Annual membership in the Society is $25 for an individual, family or business and includes a subscription to the Society's quarterly newsletter which includes Valmeyer historical tidbits along with updates on the progress of Museum renovation.
